Mock Trial Team Competes in Competition

Copy of IMG_9483On Saturday, February 4, Brother Martin High School competed in its first-ever Louisiana Region Four Mock Trial Competition, held at the District Courthouse in Gretna.  As part of the Mock Trial competition, high school students from across the nation are tasked with carefully studying a fictional legal problem and arguing it in front of actual judges and attorneys from across the metro area.  Cameron Gore, Gus Heller, and Christopher MacDowell acted as attorneys on the team, and Justin Chambers, Adam Strain, and James Sterkx acted as witnesses.  Along with Andrew Winstein as timekeeper, the Crusader team did extremely well in its first year of competition, culminating in Justin Chambers’ win as Best Witness in the metro area.  The competitors feel confident that this is the beginning of a long and rich tradition for Brother Martin.
