Brother Martin High School
Brother Martin High School has played an integral role in Michael H. Lynn Jr.’s overall education and career path. He is a graduate of the Brother Martin class of 2004 and returned to his alma mater after earning college degrees from universities in the state of Louisiana, currently serving as Director of Faculty Formation, Curriculum, and Instruction. Lynn attended the University of New Orleans and earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education prior to attending Louisiana State University Shreveport and earning a master’s degree in educational leadership. After fulfilling his degree at UNO, Lynn launched his teaching career at Brother Martin by teaching fine arts and history while also working as moderator of the school drama club, Dionsyians. Since 2010, he has served in multiple positions at the high school including Junior High Academic Coordinator, Assistant Disciplinarian, Dean of Students, Student Council Moderator, and social studies teacher. He was also honored with the Brother Conlin Dugas S.C. Social Justice Award. In his current position as Director of Faculty Formation, Lynn coordinates exercises and orientations for newly appointed teachers, “learning rounds” for faculty to view each other’s classes and completes official classroom observation to improve instructional effectiveness. Lynn is also an active member of St. Dominic Parish, serving as a committed adorer at Eucharistic Adoration, was recognized as an Archdiocese of New Orleans Distinguished Alumni from St. Dominic School and is currently serving his fifth year on the School Advisory Board for St. Dominic. He is also involved in charitable aid of the Hogs for the Cause organization and has also completed the Brothers of the Sacred Heart’s Coindre Leadership Program."
