Merry and Bright: Patrick Boquet ’19 Spotlighted on WWL for Christmas Display

On Tuesday morning on WWL-TV Channel 4, senior Patrick Boquet was interviewed for a special segment called "Louisiana Lights. Chef Kevin Belton '77 interviewed Patrick and his family about the tremendous light display at their home in Metairie built by Patrick.

Mr. Cary Boquet '87 noted that "Patrick has been mechanically inclined since a toddler. He has done numerous projects and has enjoyed the Christmas projects the most. The display takes him about 20 hours to install every year and he starts at 4:00 am."

Patrick is currently a senior at Brother Martin High School and has been a student here since 7th grade. He continues to excel in his academics and enjoys playing the alto saxophone in the Crusader Band. A few other notables about Patrick: he currently has a 3.97 GPA for the 6 years at Brother Martin and has been offered a Presidential Scholarship at the University of New Orleans where he will attend in the fall of 2019 to study Mechanical Engineering. Outside of school, Patrick has been an Alter Server with St. Francis Xavier Church since 4th grade and enjoys fishing and time on the water.

"It was truly an amazing experience to see all my hard work pay off and have it showcased on the news," said Patrick.

Patrick also stems from a long legacy of Brother Martin graduates with his two Grandfathers Mr. Cary Boquet Sr. SA '58 and Mr. Robert Golden SA '55, his father Mr. Cary Boquet Jr. BM '87, and his uncle Mr. Kevin Boquet '88. We are so proud of Patrick's hard work inside and outside the classroom. Keep striving for excellence, Patrick!
