Senior Chief Romico Barnes retired from the United States Navy in October 2013, after 22 years of active duty service. This will be his 5th year teaching Naval Science in the NJROTC program. He is involved with NJROTC: Color Guard, Drill, Rifle Club, Academic, Athletic, and Orienteering to name a few. He’s looking forward to getting to know his cadets and partnering with their family in developing well rounded productive citizens. He enjoys traveling the world along with meeting and interacting with different cultures in his free time.
David Browning is an alumnus of Brother Martin High School - Class of 2012. While a student at Brother Martin, he was active in the Dionysions and Improv Club. This year, He will be helping with the Dionysians and CSPN. He is really looking forward to producing a play or musical (hopefully). In his free time, He plays video games… mostly strategy games.
Adam Giglio is beginning his first year coaching at Brother Martin High School. He will be teaching Health and Physical Education, coaching Varsity Football, and Powerlifting.
Coach Giglio is entering his tenth year in education and thirteenth year coaching at the high school athletics. He has served all of his years of experience at Holy Cross School, where he was the Physical Education Department Chair, Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the Varsity Football Team, and Head Powerlifting Coach. He is a 2005 graduate of Holy Cross High School and has earned his B.A. from the University of New Orleans in 2011. Coach Giglio is a life-long resident of St. Bernard Parish, where he currently resides with his wife Bianca and step-daughter, Brynn.
Logan S. Istre (or Mr. Istre) teaches U.S. History and World Geography. He recently earned a Master's degree from LSU in U.S. History and has previous experience teaching college students and students from 6th grade to 12th grade in the Baton Rouge area. Some of Mr. Istre's favorite subjects in history are politics, government, exploration, and international conflict. In his free time, Mr. Istre enjoys hiking, trees, reading, and writing on historical topics. His favorite president is Theodore Roosevelt. Mr. Istre will be helping out with the Student Ambassadors program this year and is looking forward to making the most of hybrid learning.
Christopher McCabe teaches Religion and has a total of 9 years of teaching experience (5 in New York City, 4 at Jesuit New Orleans). He will be helping out with Campus Ministry, specifically the Crusaders for Life and Justice. He’s the most excited about the challenging conversations in the classroom with his students and getting creative with the Crusaders for Life and Justice. In his downtime, he loves playing board games, traveling to new places, and going camping with his wife and two girls.
Hannah Plummer teaches English at Brother Martin High School. Outside of the classroom, she will be assisting with our Dionysians (Drama Club).
Micah Silver teaches Intro to Algebra and this is his first year teaching. He will be helping out with the Crusader Band and our Mu Alpha Theta Club. He’s the most excited about seeing his young 8th-grade students come out of their shells. When he’s not at Brother Martin, Micah likes to play tennis, play video games, cycle, and play chess.
My name is Jennifer Taylor and this is my fourth year as a Guidance Counselor. I've spent the last three years at Saint Stanislaus, a fellow Brothers of the Sacred Heart School, located in Bay St Louis, MS. This year I will be the counselor for the 9th-grade class (class of 2024) and will also be working with the Key Club. I am so excited to join the Crusader family and feel blessed to continue working within the Brothers of the Sacred Heart community, as their mission and ministry is something dear to my heart. In my downtime, I enjoy sailing with my husband and 5-month-old daughter, Amelia.
Joe David Wilkerson is in his third year of teaching. He currently teaches Algebra 1 to our 9th-grade students at Brother Martin. Outside of the classroom, Joe David will be a part of the Basketball coaching staff and will be working with our students to bring back our Praise & Worship Team. He’s looking forward to getting to know his students this year. On his downtime, he enjoys playing guitar, riding bikes, rollerblading, and sports.
