Matthew Biehl ’24 received the 2024 Edmond M. A. d’Hemecourt, Jr. ’64 CJ Memorial Award.

Matthew Biehl ’24 received the 2024 Edmond M. A. d’Hemecourt, Jr. ’64 CJ Memorial Award.  Matthew received this award by demonstrating a love for his faith and his school while living a life of service to the Church, school, and community.

Ed d’Hemecourt III ’87 created this award to honor his father, Edmond Jr. As a member of the Cor Jesu Class of 1964, Edmond “Eddie” d’Hemecourt, Jr. had a deep affection for his alma mater.  During his time at CJ, he was actively involved in various clubs and activities including Key Club, Borromeo Club, and Senior Confraternity of the Sacred Heart. Eddie’s time as an altar server and member of the CYO at St. Francis Cabrini Parish strengthened his faith, and he continued his vocation to the Catholic Church throughout his life.  As a parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church, he served his parish as a Eucharistic Minister, specifically for the sick and homebound. Additionally, he served on the parish finance board for many years, which included the annual Pecan Fest.
