Matt Auten ’00 served as guest speaker in Mr. Rhodes’s  Anatomy and Physiology class. This course is a full-year elective course that presents a survey of the structure and function of the human body. The course involves significant amounts of lab work in addition to traditional classroom instruction. Matt shared his medical school experiences, gave advice concerning the medical profession as a career and encouraged students to be proactive when it comes to their future. Â
Matt recently successfully defended his dissertation, entitled “CD40 Ligand as a Molecular Adjuvant for Improved Genetic Vaccination,” and he received a PhD in Microbiology from the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Parasitology at LSU Health Sciences Center – New Orleans.
