On Saturday, the Brother Martin Martial Arts Team competed in the USKA Heart of a Hero Southern Louisiana Regional Tournament. Despite being bumped up into an Advanced Heavyweight Division, Senior Matthew Tate was able to start-off and score several points on Experienced Black Belts in his division. Members of the eighth grade ‘Ninja Team’ dominated the Beginner Division by capturing the top three spots. Thomas Jackson defeated all opponents except for his teammates to gain 3rd, Andrew Beihl successfully fought off all competition to capture 2nd, and Matthew Lindner overcame his own teammate to bring home first in the division. Lastly, Team Captain and Sophomore Paul Maestri fought off serious competition in a highly skilled division of Advanced Black Belts to capture 4th!
The Martial Arts Team thanks the entire Brother Martin Community for their care and support all year long. Great job, Martial Arts Team!
