From April 11th – 13th, Brother Martin’s Mu Alpha Theta Club competed in the Louisiana MA0 State Convention. At the Convention, the following individuals/teams performed well enough to be recognized at the Awards Ceremony at the close of the Convention:
Hustle Team (consisting of Nguyen Vo, Rahul Kata, Daniel Brubaker, and Fritz Newburger) – 5th place.
Calculus: Differentiation Test – Nguyen Vo – 14th place.
Puzzlements Test – Brandon Yrle – 5th place.
Descartes Competition (Algebra II Level) – Jerry Davenport (3rd place) and Joseph Arrigo (2nd place).
Descartes Competition (Calculus Level) – Chris Maheu (3rd place)
Theta (Geometry/Algebra II) Individual Test – Fritz Newburger – 13th place.
Scholarship Test – Chris Maheu – 6th place.
Every year, the Convention is put together by 6 State Board Members as well as District Governors from each of the 6 districts. For the 2013-2014 school year, Joseph Arrigo will represent District I as our District Governor. Throughout the year, he will help plan for next year’s State Convention. Congratulations, Joseph!
