On a beautiful Saturday morning on March 24, Crusader Alumni gathered to watch the Brothers of the Sacred Heart baseball lettermen wear their red and white, yellow and red, or even crimson and gold baseball uniforms to play their annual spring game. Alumni returned to the baseball diamond for the 2018 St. Aloysius, Cor Jesu & Brother Martin Baseball Lettermen Reunion & Alumni Softball Game. Both family and friends helped cheer their teams on and also enjoyed a post-game reception altogether.
Prior to the first game pitch, fans welcomed former baseball head coach Barry Hebert ’74 who played on Team Crimson. Director of Alumni Scott Corrente ’83, Director of Athletics Mark Wisniewski ’81, and current head coach of varsity baseball Jeff Lupo ’92 were all in attendance for the big game! They also welcomed special guest Shannon Battle ’69 CJ to the game who was a Cor Jesu letterman and popular athlete. Amongst the players were Brother Martin’s 1983 American Legion State & Regional Champs, 2008 District Champs, and the 2013 Undefeated District Champs. In the end, Team Gold defeated Team Crimson by a score of 9-5. During the game and social, teammates exchanged stories and life lessons that were taught on the baseball diamond. It was a great day for all on Farley Field!
