The Brother Martin Ladies of the Shield recently hosted their annual "Holiday Home Tour," taking guests on tours of beautiful New Orleans homes decorated in time for the holidays...
Brother Martin High School and Ladies of the Shield began this Christmas season with the return of their annual Holiday Home Tour! Parents, alumni, and friends donned their ‘merry and bright’ attire while they ‘flocked to Flamingo’ to tour idyllic homes in charming Lake Vista.
Kicking off the morning, guests could attend the Patron Party with sounds of the season and a variety of cuisine at the home of Gia and Charles Blanchard (Christian ’13) at 26 Flamingo St. and share the backyard of Susan and Jeff Coco (Clay ’11 and Jack ’17). Adding to the tour of beautiful homes included those of Curt Kronlage (Carter ’14 and Canon ’25) at 4 Flamingo St., Roberta Stewart and Michael Martin at 15 Flamingo St., Donna and Robert Bertel ‘75 at 64 Flamingo St., and Yvonne and Jimmy McCulla ’74 (Jeb ’04) at 66 Flamingo.
Homes on the tour ranged from a French style “forever home” in the heart of Lake Vista with a perfect backyard for entertaining, a residence with customized interior painting fit for an art connoisseur, an oasis with a courtyard pool and its own man cave, a fully renovated residence that is one of a few original homes preserved in the original design of the area, and a Greek-revival-style residence fit for a “decorating queen” for all occasions, especially Christmas.
In addition, guests had the opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping with Nola Gifts and Décor and Kendra Scott, where a part of the proceeds were donated to Brother Martin High School.
All funds raised continue to benefit the Ladies of the Shield Endowment.
Special thanks to our tour homeowners, sponsors, volunteers, Ladies of the Shield, Partners in Mission, and Student Ambassadors for helping make this year’s Holiday Home Tour a success and one to remember!
Merry Christmas!
