Lacrosse Wraps Up the 2015-2016 Season

651 copyCongratulations to the Lacrosse team for winning a thriller game on Saturday, April 23rd in the State Semifinals against Loyola College Prep to earn a berth to the state championship on Sunday, April 24th.  A final goal scored by Edwin Pigeon, with an assist from Lee Davis, with only :19 seconds on the clock provided the Crusaders with the 6-5 win.  Leading the scoring for the Crusaders was Nicolas Benedetto  with one goal,  Noah Velez with two goals, and Edwin Pigeon with three goals. The entire Defense played excellent and Holden Savoie preserved the win with 16 goalie saves.

The Crusaders played a tough Jesuit opponent on Sunday, April 24th in the Lacrosse State Finals, but just could not overcome the power offense and 27 shots against goal, as the Crusaders fell 15-6 in the championship game.  Leading the scoring for the Crusaders was Jack Bryant with two goals, and Dylan Mattio, Ben Willis, Lee Davis, and Nicolas Benedetto with one goal each.  Congratulations to Garrett Frey, Jack Bryant, Matthew Coscino, and Brett Robinson, and Holden Savoie for playing tough defense and to all of the Varsity Lacrosse Players for an excellent season and bringing home the 2016 State Runner-Up title.
