"K's for Kids, Ponchatoula lead CCSL Honor Roll

Crescent City Sports Prep Summer League champion and Brother Martin-based K's for Kids, along with regular-season champ Ponchatoula, lead the list of winners on the league's third annual Honor Roll announced Friday.

K's for Kids had the CCSL's Player of the Year in Ryan Darrah, who had a remarkable .857 regular-season batting average and a .720 average overall, and the Pitcher of the Year in Cole Heap, who went 3-0 and did not allow a run while striking out 16 in 12 innings.

Ponchatoula coach Scott Tribble was selected as the league's Coach of the Year after the Green Wave went undefeated through the regular season before losing in 12 innings in the league semifinals.

All 16 teams are represented on the Honor Roll. The four teams who reached the playoffs last week - K's for Kids, Ponchatoula, Pope John Paul II and Archbishop Rummel-based Malcolm M. Dienes - each have three players on the list."

Congratulations to our Crusaders!
