Kelly Wild Earns Brother More Schaefer Faculty Award

Faculty Recognition - AdvocateKelly Wild earned a B.S. Degree in Math Education in 1993 and a Masters in Educational Leadership in 2001, both at the University of New Orleans. She began her teaching career at Grace King High School and joined the faculty of Brother Martin High School in August 1994.

We honor Kelly in her 19th year at Brother Martin. As a member of the Brother Martin faculty, she has chaired the Math Department and taught Geometry, Advanced Math, Analysis, and Pre-Calculus. Beyond the classroom, she has served as the faculty moderator for Senior Class Activities, Homecoming Activities, Student Council, Mu Alpha Theta, Rugby Club, and the Soccer Team. She served as Brother Martin’s summer school principal for 10 years.

During the summer of 2012, Kelly was selected to attend Pilgrimage Lyon: an Andre Coindre Experience (PLACE). This leadership program is held in Lyon, France, the location where the Institute was founded. This 17 day session, is designed to deepen the participant’s understanding of the charism of the Brothers so that its elements can then be incorporated into their lives.

Kelly currently is the Director of Student Formation, AP and Honors Program Coordinator, and LSU Pre-Calculus Dual Enrollment Liaison. She also works with the Athletic Director determining eligibility of athletes and planning athletic convocations. During the 2014-15 school year, she will challenge herself again in her new role as College Counselor.
