The media selection committee of the Saints Hall of Fame recently announced that Brother Martin Alumnus Jay Romig ’72, who is an administrative director with the New Orleans Saints, will be honored with the Joe Gemelli “Fleur-De-Lis” Award for 2017. Romig has been a dedicated employee with the organization for 41 years. Various events will surround the recognition of Romig and will take place from October 27-29 in conjunction with the October 29 game vs. the Chicago Bears.
He joined the Saints’ organization in 1977 while holding various positions such as assistant athletic trainer and club liaison with the Superdome in operations. He also lead the club’s Information Technology department and lead several other projects within the organization.
While at Brother Martin, he participated in the newspaper, cross country and was a recipient of the Golden Crusader award. In 2015, he was recognized by the Brother Martin Board of Directors for his continuous service to his alma mater.
