On Saturday, June 3rd, the Brother Martin Admissions Office, under the direction of Assistant Principal for Admissions, Mr. Carlos Bogran III ‘99, welcomed 92% of our incoming 8th and 9th-grade Crusaders to their Summer Enrichment Orientation. Students received their Enrichment schedules, Friday field trip groups, official locks for their school lockers, and an Enrichment t-shirt and shorts. Mr. Bogran shared rules and policies with our incoming Crusaders to ensure a safe, fun, and smooth transition to Brother Martin High School.
The Enrichment program is meant to help acclimate incoming Crusaders to our campus and school structure, to introduce a multitude of extracurricular opportunities, as well as to begin building camaraderie via our Friday field trips.
Each student attends three classes which focus on English, math, or invaluable "Brother Martin 101" skills. After their lunch (a simulation of the Brother Martin "unstructured period"), students are introduced to a variety of extracurriculars, including academic activities, baseball, basketball, cross country, football, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, and wrestling.
Fridays are built for fun with a focus on camaraderie and building friendships moving into the upcoming school year. On Fridays, students will eventually participate in each of the following activities: bowling at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, canoeing with Mr. Chad Almquist ‘02 at Canoe and Trail Adventures in Covington, and an Etiquette Class during lunch at the Rib Room.
We are pleased to provide this Enrichment opportunity so that our incoming Crusaders may begin their first year at Brother Martin with familiarity and confidence.
