In-line Hockey Team Takes Home Division Championship

This weekend the Brother Martin Hockey team played in the Gulf Coast Hockey League Championship series.

In the first game of bracket play, the Crusaders defeated St. Pauls 6-1. Parker Babcock scored 2 goals and had 1 assist. Bobby Porretta scored 1 goal and had 1 assist. Zach Begoun Will Allen, and Russel Wroten each scored a goal, and Ben Berrigan had 1 assist. Goalie Josh Lumpkin faced 23 shots and only allowed 1 goal.

 

With the win over St. Pauls, the Crusaders advanced to play Rummel in the second round. The Crusaders defeated the Raiders 5-1 in this contest. Parker Babcock scored 3 goals. Bobby Porretta and Ben Berggan each scored 1 goal. Cole Frishhertz had 2 assists, and Russel Wroten had 1 assist. Goalie Josh Lumpkin faced 28 shots and only allowed 1 goal. This win advanced the Crusaders into the championship game.

In the championship game, the Crusaders faced off against the Rummel Raiders. The Brother Martin Crusaders once again defeated Rummel to win the championship by a score of 4-0. Parker Babcock had a pair of goals and 1 assist. Cole Frischhertz and Bobby Porretta each scored 1 goal, and Hayden Bagert had 1 assist. Goalie Josh Lumpkin faced 18 shots in an impressive shutout performance.
