Health Education Resources: Executive Functioning

This week, our Guidance Department is highlighting resources that will address executive functioning. Executive functioning skills allow students to manage their thoughts, actions, and emotions including the ability to plan, organize, and manage time efficiently.

On Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium, we will host Ms. Patricia Ruf who will address the manner in which executive functioning skills affect academic success and identify study strategies to help students best utilize their study time.

Ms. Patricia Ruf, M.Ed. is a Certified Gifted Teacher with sixteen years of teaching experience. She earned a Reading Specialization from Loyola University, and she received the 2016 New Orleans Excellence in Teaching Award. Ms. Ruf is also the Challenges Summer Camp coordinator where she works with students who face executive functioning deficits.
