Gatti Named the 2015 Brother More Schaefer Faculty Award Recipient

Over the weekend, Mr. James M. “Jimmy” Gatti was honored as the 2015 Brother More Schaefer Faculty Award Recipient.

A graduate of Jesuit High School, Jimmy Gatti earned a Bachelor of General Studies Degree in 1987 from Louisiana State University. His first year out of college, he worked for his family’s construction business. He worked at two local neckwear companies over the next fifteen years, holding management positions at both companies, before he joined the faculty of Brother Martin in August 2002. Currently in his 13th year at Brother Martin, he has taught Health and PE and Religion to 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. Outside the classroom, Mr. Gatti was an assistant coach for basketball, football, track, and wrestling, Junior Service Coordinator, faculty moderator of Student Council, and taught Science in the Summer Enrichment program for many years. Post Katrina, he was fortunate enough to drive a Brother Martin school bus, round trip, bringing displaced Brother Martin students and a few girls from Metairie and LaPlace to Brother Martin High in Baton Rouge. Mr. Gatti continues to live and teach the charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart to his 7th grade Religion students and as faculty moderator of Intramural Athletics and Tennis. Jimmy and his wife Diane are active parishioners of St. Catherine of Siena, and they have four children, Sean and his wife Jessica Robicheaux, Kayla and her husband Brandon Boughrara, Kelli Gatti, and James Gatti, Jr.
