Wednesday morning, Brother Martin hosted the 9th Annual Prayer Breakfast at Metairie Country Club. This year’s keynote speaker was Brother Paul Montero, S.C. Brother Paul spoke on how we as Christians are to help others gather themselves to stay on God’s track. He quoted a preaching of Sister Mary Finn to summarize his message, “Our work as Christians is to be busy gathering up the fragments of others’ brokenness so that nothing of their humanity is lost”.
Brother Paul Montero, S.C. worked at St. Aloysius High School as a teacher, guidance counselor, and assistant principal from 1961-69. He was also Principal at E. D. White High School and both Principal and President at St. Stanislaus College. Between stints as Principal Brother Paul served as the Vocation Director for the New Orleans Province. In 1994 he became the Provincial for the New Orleans Province and remained in that position until 2000 when he became General Councilor for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in Rome. Brother Paul served in Rome for 12 years. He is presently Director of the Volunteer-Discernment Community in Baton Rouge.
