Over 250 future Crusaders arrived on campus, October 20, for a chance to experience Brother Martin High School’s campus and to get to know our students and faculty.
Crusader Discovery Night hosts prospective 5th – 8th-grade students to ‘discover’ the Crusader spirit through games, food, presentations, and a pep rally. Student Ambassadors and Student Recruiting teams welcomed visitors and invited them to take part in games both indoors in the Benson Mall and Conlin Gymnasium, and outdoors in the campus’s Backyard. There was basketball, board games, catch football, and frisbee, along with other activities.
Prospective students enjoyed pizza, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and more during dinner. Assistant Principal for Admissions Carlos Bogran III ’99 and Student Council President, Elliott Canty ‘19, welcomed our guests to campus in the Conlin Gymnasium. From there, students were divided into four groups based on the color of the bandana (crimson, gold, white, gray) they received at check-in. They then ‘discovered’ Brother Martin through four different rotations consisting of Brother Martin Jeopardy with Mr. Matt Lambert '98, demonstrations by the science department in the Meyer Building, and an extracurricular and Athletics fair in the first floor Resource Center and Brother Mark Thornton Terrace.
By the end of the night, future Crusaders enjoyed a pep rally with some relays and cheers with Student Council, Crusader Band, and Crusader Cheerleaders in the Conlin Gym.
Thank you to all prospects who attended our annual 2018 Crusader Discovery Night. We look forward to seeing these families again for a school day tour, Junior High Band Night on Friday, November 2, and Open House, Thursday, November 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. For more on these events, visit our Admissions page.
