On Thursday, October 25, Brother Martin’s entire freshman class travelled by bus to St. Stanislaus College and Our Lady of the Gulf Church in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The focus of the day was prayer in the spirituality of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. “We hope that our students graduate with: a desire for a deeper relationship with God through prayer.” Educational Mission and Ministry.
Cooper Ray began the day with prayer and song, assisted by senior student ministers. Then freshmen broke into small groups for discussions on prayer with student ministers on the pier;
a session on respecting self and others; a meditation in the Brothers’ cemetery; a prayer exercise; a session on singing as prayer.
The day ended with Mass in Our Lady of the Gulf Church.
