Former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns track and field standout Albert Fournette, a 2009 Brother Martin graduate, finished 12th overall in the men’s shot put during the opening day of the 2014 USATF Outdoor Championships last Wednesday.
Competing on the grounds of the California State Capitol, Fournette qualified during the early session of the 18-man field with a 10th-place throw of 63 feet, 10.5 inches. He came back in the evening session to post a mark of 61-2.75 on his opening toss.
