Brother Martin marked All Saints’ Day with a school-wide liturgy this morning celebrated by Fr. Joseph Tregre, the pastor at St. Joseph’s Church in Galliano, in South Lafourche. Fr. Tregre is the brother of BMHS Spanish teacher Cherie Tregre and graduate of Vandebilt High School, a Brothers’ school in Houma.
Members of the cross country and swim teams served in the Offertory Procession, as lectors, and as acolytes. The decor, designed by Bro. Carl Bouchereau, featured tables draped in white in the form of a cross with symbols of saints atop the tables, transforming the Conlin Gym into sacred worship space. Mr. Dominick Caronna ‘85 led an intimate band in a rendition of “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.” Fr. Tregre encouraged the students, parents, faculty and staff in attendance to study the lives of the saints and he spoke extensively about one of the Church’s newest saints, St. John Paul II. May All Saints Day continue to be a holy day in which we honor all the men and women who have gone before us in their saintly lives
