Eighth Grade Retreat

On Thursday, September 8, over 200 hundred 8th grade students went to Camp Abbey located in Covington. Nestled in
piney woods, the facilities were ideal for serious contemplation and small group sessions. The theme of the retreat was the question, “What does it mean to me that God loves me?” This topic was addressed in four rotations that connected to the main talk given by Mr. Dauterive. The student ministers handled the small groups in an open pavilion. The 8th graders then moved to a powerful talk on respect for others, again directed by student ministers. From there, the students attended a presentation on what it means to be a student at a Brothers school, followed by a talk on how vocations can be a response to God’s love. The day ended in Mass with song directed by the Student Minister Praise and Worship group.
