Students in the senior elective, Economics, are applying learned economic principles to create a business model, design, and market a product. In addition, students will also be learning the basics of advertising, budgeting, sales, product design, manufacturing, and business management.

The class was split up into two companies and assigned roles ranging from corporate officers to sales managers. Then each company brainstormed ideas for products and developed market research surveys to determine whether there would be demand for their product. These market research surveys were sent to all students at Brother Martin. The two companies are using the data to determine design, price, demand, elasticity of demand, number of units to produce, and when to sell the product.

At the end of March, the two companies – Crusader Koozies and SadahBandz – will be selling their products on campus. All of the profits made by the companies will be donated to two pre-selected charities.
