Eagle Scout is the highest honor attainable by young men who have participated in Boy Scouts. Acquiring this rank identifies the culmination of years of training, learning life skills, and performing countless hours of service in the Boy Scout tradition of honor and duty to “God and . . . Country, . . . to obey the Scout Law, to help other people at all times, to keep . . . physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight,” as the Boy Scout Oath outlines. In addition, these young men have completed a major project of service to their community and must then pass an Eagle Scout Board of Review. In Couturie Forest, City Park, there is an observation deck looking over a small lake. The ramp leading to the deck had rotten boards and was not handicap accessible. I redesigned the ramp, removing the old one and constructing a new ramp.

My Eagle Scout project was to put up new siding, lattice, and roofing on a storage shed for a church in my parish.
