The Robert M. Conlin gymnasium was the scene for the District 9-5A matchup between the Crusaders (9-10, 1-2) and the Rummel Raiders (11-9, 2-0) on Tuesday night. Coming off a Friday night victory over Archbishop Shaw and having won four of their last five games, the Crusaders were red hot and looking to extend their 16 game winning streak against the Raiders. However with 38 seconds remaining in overtime, Rummel converted a three-point play to squeak past the Crusaders and hang on for the win. Tre Swilling scored a game-high 31 points for the Crusaders. Other leading scorers for the game were Tyler Epps with twelve points and Bruce Jordan- Swilling with ten points.
The Crusaders travel to St. Augustine for a district match-up with the Purple Knights on Tuesday, January 19th. Varsity tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
