Members of the Excalibur National Honor Society for Excellence in Science listened to a presentation from Dr. Kenneth Fallon, MD ’81 who is a neuropathologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Fallon attended LSU School of Medicine and completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at LSU Health Sciences Center. He finished his Fellowship at UAB in Neuropathology.
Dr. Fallon explained to students the difference between benign and malignant brain tumors, how they are classified, and about the potential outcomes for the patients. He emphasized the importance of a strong science background upon entrance into medical school. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about his profession and about his background in medicine.
Thank you, Dr. Fallon, for speaking to the students of Excalibur.
