On Saturday, 8 September 2012, the Brother Martin NJROTC Unit sent 14 cadets to the U.S. Navy Seabees Base in Gulfport, Mississippi. The Cadets competed in the 17th annual Volkslauf Mud Run. This race consisted of 5 miles of obstacles incorporated into mud. Some of these obstacles include hills, trenches, barriers, and pits. Brother Martin took place in both the JROTC and Individual divisions. This is the largest mud race on the Gulf Coast with over 500 competitors attending. All the cadets enjoyed themselves and returned to Brother Martin exhausted and smiling.
