Deacon Carlo Maniglia '69 SA Speaks at Prayer Breakfast

Deacon Carlo Maniglia

The 12th Annual Brother Martin High School Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the Parents Club and the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Alumni Association, was held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Metairie Country Club. Alumni, parents, Brothers of the Sacred Heart, and friends of Brother Martin High School gathered together to listen to Deacon Carlo Maniglia ’69 SA, who served as the keynote speaker.

Deacon Maniglia began his reflection by informing guests that we currently live in a society where one accomplishes everyday simple tasks such as shopping, eating, etc. in 24 hours 7 days a week. He asked the questions, “What if we could do these things in one hour a week?” and also “Why trust our spiritual life to just one hour a week at Mass on Sundays?” As disciples of Christ, we should spend not just one hour every Sunday, but spend 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  This, however, requires commitment, preparation, and total engagement. In conclusion, he advised people to live their faith by spreading the good news because that was what we were called to do at our Baptism.
