On Day 2 of Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek), an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take interest in computer science, guest speaker Andrew Hall of the School of Engineering at LSU spoke to several of Brother Martin’s Computer Science students.
Mr. Hall informed the classes about the opportunities LSU’s Computer Science Department offers, including its degree concentrations, hands-on internships and business connections. Students at LSU have the opportunity to focus on several areas of study such as cyber security, cloud computing, app development, digital media, Web development and gaming. LSU graduates work at companies like EA, IBM, Google and LinkedIn. The School of Engineering has eleven available majors, including Computer Engineering.
Mr. Hall’s visit was a great opportunity for Brother Martin’s students to learn more about computer science—one of the leading fields of study in today’s digital age.
