IMG_1247Congratulations to the Crusader Quiz Bowl for participating in the 2016 Quiz Bowl State Tournament. The tournament was held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Northwestern State University. Unfortunately, the Crusaders lost in a double elimination. The co- captains leading the team were Vincent Soldano ’16 and Nicholas Brondum ’16. Soldano and Brondum have participated on the Quiz Bowl team for six years. Previously, they were co-captains on the Junior Varsity Quiz Bowl team. The other team members competing consisted of Ian Hill ’16, Robert Laurent ’16, James Payne ’17, and James Sterkx ’18.

“Participating in Quiz Bowl for six years has been a wonderful experience.  It has allowed me to participate in many different activities representing Brother Martin.  It also has allowed me to make friends with my fellow Crusaders as well as with students of other schools. I am extremely grateful to Brother Martin for allowing me to represent my high school as well as my teammates and our moderator, Dr. Tucker.” Nicholas Brondum ’16

“Over the past six years of my life, I have been part of Brother Martin Quiz Bowl. I have been a Co-Captain in JV and now am a Co-Captain in Varsity. Being Varsity Co-Captain has it perks. The biggest one is having a bit of authority when it comes to saying who plays the round and who sits out. The best part about being Co-Captain is that I get to co-lead a group of great guys in competition, have fun between rounds, and getting the chance to learn a lot, both at practice and even at tournaments. I have had great fun these past six years. Sure, it’s great when we win, but we still have fun when we lose. It makes us better and makes us want to win even more. Through all our victories and defeats, both big and small, I have made memories that I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life. I am proud to call myself a Quizader!” Vincent Soldano ’16
