img_6385On Friday, the Crusaders (4-4, 2-2) hung on for a thrilling victory over the Rummel Raiders by a score of 27 – 22 at the annual Homecoming game. This game was also chosen as the Cox Prep Game of the Week on Cox Sports Television. The victory by the Crusaders ended Rummel’s 19 game Catholic League winning streak. John-Paul Pierce was the hero of the night, throwing for 219 yards and four touchdowns, including the game winner to Joseph Parenti with 43 seconds left. This was the second touchdown reception of the night for Parenti, who also scored on a 10 yard pass in the first quarter. Jeremy Singleton and Brady Faust were the recipients of Pierce’s other two touchdown throws. Although Bruce Jordan-Swilling was held out of the end zone, he did surpass the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the season and finished the game with  115 yards on 26 attempts.

The Crusaders look to continue their winning streak to four games next week as they take on the Archbishop Shaw Eagles on Saturday, October 29, 2016. The game begins at 2 p.m. at Hoss Memtsas Stadium.

In addition, congratulations to Shelby Villarrubia on being crowned as the 2016 Homecoming Queen for Brother Martin. She was crowned by BOSHAA President Mr. Sal Brocato ’88 and Student Council President Ben Wisniewski.
