Crusaders Win 1st Place at Holy Cross/Dominican Invitational

file_007The cross country team raced into action at the Holy Cross/Dominican Invitational this past Saturday. The event was held in City Park where the Crusaders took 1st Place with outstanding efforts from Hunter Appleton ’19, Hayden Courrege ’18, and Benjamin Crowley ’18, who finished 1-2-3, respectively, in the field. Tyler Epps ’18, and Reid Kern ’17 solidified the victory for the Crusaders by placing 10th and 16th. The Crusaders narrowly defeated runner-up St. Paul’s 32-38. The junior varsity was led by Jackson Vicknair ’18 and Samuel Martinez ’17 in the non-scored race, and the junior high team finished in 2nd place behind St. Paul’s with Abram Bernstein ’20 finishing in 3rd place overall.

The team returns to action this weekend at the St. Joseph’s Academy Invitational at Highland Park in Baton Rouge for 8 a.m.
