Crusaders Volunteer for Katrina Anniversary

DSCN3838_1Eighteen Brother Martin students answered Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s call for 10,000 volunteers to commemorate the 10th anniversary on Saturday, August 29, 2015, of the levee failures during Hurricane Katrina. The Brother Martin students met early on  Saturday morning at school and walked across Gentilly Blvd. to join the Edgewood Park Neighborhood Association in an effort to clean up the neighborhood.  Students worked until noon and then were invited to attend a picnic lunch in Pontchartrain Park and to the city-wide commemoration in the Smoothie King Center led by Mayor Mitch Landrieu and President Bill Clinton later that evening.
