After last week’s heavy rain in New Orleans, heavy wind, high water, and debris impacted various areas of Gentilly.  These conditions directly affected the Edgewood Park Neighborhood Association (EPNA) in Gentilly. Last Saturday, the EPNA organized volunteers to go through the neighborhood and collect litter and clear debris from storm drains and streets.

Brother Martin Crusaders spent their time clearing the area as part of their christian service experience requirement. Brother Martin’s goal is to involve students in situations that will broaden their understanding of Christian responsibility and respond to the call of Jesus which is to serve one another. In addition, fellow Brother Martin faculty participated and supervised the Crusaders. Present at the cleanup was Mr. Dean Songy, Mr. Tom Baier, and Mr. Connell Vallette ’64 SA. Mr. Vallette is a longtime volunteer of Brother Martin. Job Well Done, Crusaders!
