The Brother Martin Crusaders continued their tear through the Division I playoffs with a 28 – 0 quarterfinal victory over the Catholic High Bears on Friday night. Running back Bruce Jordan-Swilling gashed the Bears defense all night as he ran for 233 yards scoring three touchdowns. When the Bears did load the box to try and stop Jordan-Swilling, Quarterback John-Paul Pierce efficiently found the open receivers. He finished 8-11 along with one rushing touchdown. The Crusader defense was able to pressure Catholic’s quarterback all night as they forced three sacks and two interceptions.
The Crusaders play in the semi-final round of the Division I playoffs against Scotlandville (Baton Rouge) on Friday, November 25 at Scotlandville. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The visitor section parking lot is located directly behind the stands and there will be an area for tailgating. Tickets will be available for pre- sale and at the gate for $10 (cash only for pre-sale). Pre- sale tickets will be sold on Tuesday, November 22 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and Wednesday, November 23 from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. There will be no special child’s ticket for this game. Student id’s or season passes are not valid during the playoffs. Please enter through the glass doors of The Ridgley Center on St. Aloysius Drive to purchase tickets on campus.
The game will also be televised on Cox Channel 4/1004.
