Brother Martin (13-0) started the weekend going up against the East Ascension Spartans. After five lead changes, the Crusaders defeated the Spartans 6-5.
Brother Martin came away with the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. A walk by Jacob Parker scored Owen Magee and gave the Crusaders the lead for good. The Crusaders held off East Ascension, as they were unable to overcome a two-run seventh inning deficit. East Ascension scored one run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly but couldn’t get over the hump.
In a Saturday double-header, the Crusaders opened the day with the Destrehan Wildcats.

Jarett went 1-3 and drove in one run with a single in the seventh inning. Brice Johnston was hit by a pitch to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Johnston eventually scored on the single by Gongora.
In the second game on Saturday, Brother Martin blasted St. Amant 12-0.
Brother Martin’s Andrew Boucvalt kept St. Amant off the scoreboard for all six innings he was on the mound. He gave up four hits while ringing up four batters.
