Congratulations to Trumpeter Michael Lopez ’17 and Clarinetist Brett Hildreth ’18, members of the Crusader Marching Band, on being selected to play with the Loyola Bourgeois Honor Band on November 12, 2016. The event will take place from 7:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. in the Roussel Performance Hall (2nd floor of Comm./Music Complex) on Loyola’s campus. This event is open to the public, free of charge The evening will feature full various music compositions consisting of standard and contemporary wind literature from the Loyola University’s Wind Ensemble and the Bourgeois Honor Band.
The director of the Bourgeois Honor Band is Colonel John R. Bourgeois who is the retired director of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. Not only is Colonel Bourgeois director of the very Band led by John Philip Sousa himself, but he also is an accomplished editor with a wealth of musical knowledge. He is currently artist in residence at Loyola University New Orleans.
