Crusaders Run Past Holy Cross to Win Homecoming Game

DSC_0999On Friday, October 16, the Crusaders (6-1, 2-1) ran past Holy Cross (4-3, 2-2) to win the Homecoming game 49-24 at Tad Gormley Stadium. Brother Martin ended the game with 444 yards of offense while 164 yards were from Bruce Jordan- Swilling. During the second half, Jordan- Swilling exited the game with what appeared to be a sprained ankle, but he is expected to start next week’s game against Rummel.

Jake Broggi had a big game through the air going 11-for-19 for 139 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Jeremy Singleton was the recipient of Broggi lone touchdown pass after a 40 yard catch and run on the Crusaders first offensive play of the game. Singleton also added a 77 yard kickoff return for a touchdown of the first play of the second half.

Next Saturday night, Brother Martin faces off against district leader and No. 1 ranked Rummel. Kick- off is set for 7 p.m. at Joe Yenni Stadium.
