In the opening round of the Crusader Invitational, the Brother Martin Crusaders (12-5) rolled through the Runnels Raiders of Baton Rouge 64-35. A stout Crusaders defense set the pace for the game as the team put heavy pressure on the Raiders causing many turnovers resulting in fast-break points. At halftime, Brother Martin led 35-12 and 51-18 after three periods. Runnels outscored the Crusaders 17-13 in the fourth quarter but the deficit was too much to overcome.
Brother Martin will play Christian Life in the second round on Friday, January 9th in the Conlin Gym. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
