On a sloppy pitch, the No. 1 seeded Crusaders (20-0) played through the conditions to cruise to a 5-0 victory over #17 Alexandria. After many early attempts, Brother Martin converted its first goal in the 21st minute as Cristian Canales sent a ball in to Peter Brooks for the finish. It took Brother Martin only three minutes to score its second goal of the game to take a 2-0 lead at the half.
The Crusaders added three more goals in the second half to lock in the victory for Brother Martin. Senior Mark Mangum converted a strike from 25 yards out. Canales found the back of the net in the 70th minute and again in the 84th minute for his second goal of the game.
Brother Martin will host No. 8 Grace King in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. on Farley Field at Brother Martin.
