Crusaders Pray Together

IMG_9696Brother Martin strives to offer different prayer and liturgical experiences for our students during the school year.  In addition to the monthly school-wide liturgies, campus ministry also provides smaller, class-size liturgies to students. Recently, eighth grade students together with their families celebrated mass in the Branton Chapel which was scheduled during their religion period under the direction of Mr. Bill Gallagher, Mr. Ryan Zeringue, and Mr. Jimmy Gatti. Brother Louis Couvillon, S.C., an ordained Brother of the Sacred Heart, was the celebrant.  He discussed with each eighth grade class the importance of celebrating the Holy Eucharist together as one.  By sharing this experience collectively the class comes together spiritually.

In addition, the junior religion classes  took part in a Rite of Passage Ritual.  Bro. Louis Couvillon explained that “this is a ritual for juniors as they move into their leadership positions of senior year.”Finishing up their course on Sacraments/Social Justice, the juniors shared their religious growth this year while parents shared personal stories and offered some advice and encouragement as their sons prepare for a leadership role as seniors.  The session ended with prayers of thanksgiving, praising God as an important force in their life and thanking parents for all the help that they have provided over the years.  The students were then commissioned as rising seniors for next year.

We ask that our Brother Martin community prays for the 8th and 11th grade classes and that the Holy Spirit guide their destiny as future Crusaders at Brother Martin.
