Crusaders Place Third in Metro

img_6635The Brother Martin swim team placed third (144 points) in this past weekend’s Metro Championship meet coming behind St. Paul’s (175 points) and Jesuit (561 points). The Crusaders defeated 20 other local swim teams while taking a trophy back to Elysian Fields. The individual team scorers were Jarrett Bealer ’17 in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, Hunter Appleton ’19 in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle, Alex East ’19 in the 100 yard backstroke, Ryan O’Connor ’19 in the 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard butterfly, and Shawn Brown ’17 in the 100 yard breaststroke and 100 yard butterfly.  The Crusader relay teams all finished in scoring positions.  The 200 yard freestyle relay finished in 10th place, made up of Anthony Centanni ’17, Sam Montgomery ’18, Jonathan Bullock ’18, and Ty Tubbs ’19.  The 200 yard medley relay finished in 3rd place, made up of Alex East ’19, Shawn Brown ’17, Ryan O’Connor ’19, and Jarrett Bealer ’17.  Finally, the 400 yard freestyle relay finished in 2nd place, made up of Jarrett Bealer ’17, Hunter Appleton ’19, Ty Tubbs ’19, and Shawn Brown ’17.332_edited

The Crusader Swim team will compete in the State Championship on Friday, November 18, 2016 and Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Sulphur Recreation Center in Sulphur.
