Crusaders Open CYO Tournament with a Win

The Brother Martin basketball team opened day one of the Allstate Sugar Bowl CYO Basketball Tournament with a 68-48 win over Covington. The Crusaders started the game strong going on a 9-0 run in the first quarter. At the break, Brother Martin held a commanding 18 point lead over the Covington Lions. The Crusaders would maintain their lead for the remainder of the game to secure game 1. Bruce Jordan-Swilling led the Crusaders with 11 points, and Drew Lewis & Venjie Wallis each added 9 points.

Brother Martin will play Hahnville in the second round at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 4th in the Conlin Gym.

The semifinals will be played on Friday evening at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Jesuit. The finals will take place on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Brother Martin. This year marks the 61st year of the tournament.
