Crusaders Measure Friction

IMG_6766Students in Mr. Justin Franks’ Physical Science classes made predictions before working in the lab on which of three different surfaces–a smooth surface, a rough piece of wood, and a smooth piece of wood– would provide the most friction and the least amount of friction.

Using Labquest Vernier software, the students measured the difference in sliding friction between the three different surfaces. After the students measured the friction, they took the data and compared it to what predictions were made working prior to being in the lab.
