Crusader baseball (12-6) took three of four games this weekend after a 5-1 loss to Destrehan on Thursday night. On Friday afternoon, Brother Martin squared off against Hahnville. The Crusaders fell behind early but gained a two run lead in the fifth inning that the Tigers would never overcome. The Crusaders ended with a 3-2 victory over the Tigers.
In the first game on Saturday, Brother Martin found themselves in an exciting game against John Curtis. The Crusaders and John Curtis traded the lead nine times, and Brother Martin ended up on top with a 7-6 win in seven innings over John Curtis. Brother Martin took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory after scoring on an RBI single by Jacob Parker, scoring Andrew Larmeu.
In game two, surged past Central Lafourche thanks to some late game heroics by Jonathan Parker. The two teams were knotted at 2 runs a piece after three innings of play until the bottom of the eighth inning. Jonathan Parker drove in Blair Frederick for the winning run with a walk-off single to give Brother Martin the 3-2 victory in the eighth inning.
The Crusaders start district play this Wednesday against Rummel at Kirsch-Rooney. First pitch is set for 4:00 pm.
