On Wednesday, May 4, 2016 the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation honored students from various schools in the Greater New Orleans area at a ceremony. Victor Quiñónez ’16, an honors graduate, was one out of 29 recipients honored with a scholarship to continue his studies. Recipients were required to meet the criteria of excelling in academics, extra-curricular activities, and civic achievements.
Previously, Victor was a member of the Crusader football team where he earned a position on the All-District, All- Metro, and the Clarion Herald Elite Teams for the 2015-2016 school year. In January, he was awarded a scholarship from the Allstate Sugar Bowl Chapter of the National Football Foundation. Victor was also a member of National Honor Society, the wrestling team, and was a Brother Martin Crimson Shield Award recipient. In the fall, Victor will attend the University of Lafayette at Lafayette to major in Kinesiology.
In addition, there were 27 underclassmen who received scholarships to private and parochial schools in the area. Congratulations to Fernando Diaz ’18, Allan Merida ’18, Alberto Sotomayor ’18, and André Morcos ’17 on receiving their scholarships.
