Monday night in the Conlin Gym, the Brother Martin Crusaders (17-7) defeated Rummel 75-66 for another district win. The Crusaders started slow but finished the first quarter with a two point advantage over the Raiders.
Brother Martin stretched the lead to as many as eight points in the second and third quarters, but the Raiders hung around until the final 3:23.
Jordan Cornish hit a driving layup and two free throws while Logan Mancuso followed with two free throws of his own after being fouled on a put back attempt. Cornish sunk another layup off a fast break followed by two more free throws to lead to a 70-61 advantage with 43.5 seconds remaining.
Senior guard Jordan Cornish finished with 30 points, Logan Mancuso had eight rebounds along with eight points and two blocked shots. Additional scoring for the Crusaders came from Jared West with nine points, seven from Luke Walker and six apiece from guards Venjie Wallis and Drew Lewis. Austin Gauthreaux, Bryant Boudreaux, and Jeremy Horn also contributed with points off the bench.
