The Physical Education Program at Brother Martin is based upon students acquiring the knowledge and skills that are the foundation for engaging in physical activity. Our goal is to empower our young men to sustain regular, lifelong physical activity as a foundation for a healthy, productive lifestyle. This effort is supported by skills learned in activities and games such as football, basketball, ultimate Frisbee, weights, and aerobic conditioning.
In the Health Program, students learn about nutrition, mental and physical health, stress and other facets of their bodies. Brother Martin faculty members who are certified by the American Heart Association instruct every Health class student in basic first aid, CPR and the use of an AED. Ultimately, students are provided with the foundation for making informed decisions that will empower them to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles and hopefully know how to respond in an emergency situation.
